Ányos Jedlik Energy Program

State support for energy storage systems and solar power installations

A new grant scheme is now available for energy-intensive companies in Hungary, offering non-refundable financial support for investments in energy storage systems and, optionally, renewable-based power generation projects.

The program is ideal for installing energy storage systems next to existing solar power plants with reverse power flow limitations ("visszwatt").

A recommended solution is the Fox ESS G-Max AC-coupled industrial storage system, which can be integrated alongside any existing PV plant.

Program Objectives

Enhancing energy independence and improving energy efficiency
Reducing utility costs for businesses through sustainable solutions
Ensuring greater flexibility in energy supply

Amount of Support: HUF 10 million – HUF 1 billion

Eligible Applicants

Hungarian micro-, small-, medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large companies
Businesses with at least one completed and closed business year

Eligible Costs / Project Scope

Construction of electricity-based energy storage systems
Installation of renewable energy sources (e.g. solar PV systems, heat pumps)
Network connection upgrades and related infrastructure development.
At least 75% of the stored energy must originate from directly connected renewable sources (calculated annually)
The installed energy storage system must reach at least 20% of the connected solar plant’s capacity

Financing Terms

Advance payment: available up to 25% of the total support amount
Reimbursement: following project completion
Payment can be made in multiple instalments with phased reporting

Grant Launch: August 2025

Project Implementation Period: 24 months
